Our community is looking for a Companion to join our team.
The Companion position is responsible for performing tasks that enable the client to remain in the home by supplementing the client’s abilities for home management.
Responsibilities include:
- Assists clients in non-personal, non-nursing self-care activities.
- Provides homemaking services for the ill, injured, impaired, disabled or aged.
- Observes the client for changes in general physical and mental conditions. Reports any changes to the care coordinator or supervisor.
- Keeps the home clean and orderly.
- Plans meals and purchases food and household supplies, as appropriate.
- Prepares and serves nutritious meals according to the client’s needs and client’s services delivery plan.
- Washes dishes and clean the kitchen after meals.
- Assist the client and caregiver in the practice of safety, hygiene and good nutrition where possible.
- Does client’s laundry.
- Adheres to the documentation of care procedures, standards of personal and professional conduct.
- All other duties that are assigned
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous companion/homemaker experience preferred.
- Is at least eighteen years of age.
- Successfully complete the companion/homemaker competency evaluation
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and organization requirements and is in good working order OR must maintain a safe and efficient method of transportation aimed at arriving to work as scheduled.
